WELCOME to my new abode! 😍✨

Oh my gosh, it feels like I've just woken up from a long nap and have no idea where I am or what year it is. But I'm back, with a new office!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've taken some time off showing up and promoting Farai for a few months during the very taxing process of buying a house in the middle of a pandemic 🤯🙏
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While it's been nice to go inwards over the holidays and focus on my family, my blog, and my current clients, today feels like a great day to burst out of the shell I've found a bit too much comfort in and continue to do what I love doing the most: creating and sharing.

For my first few years, I thought I had to speak one way, act one way, dress one way to be respected and a respectable digital marketer and business owner.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Recently, I've been peeling back the layers – removing the mask, for lack of a better term!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I realised that the reason my first ever clients came to me (and are still with me today) is because I shared my raw self with them – they read my personal blog when I first started it and they saw, through my everyday content, that I am the person for them and their businesses.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just because this is my "business account", doesn't mean I can't be myself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I can use different branding elements and colours – but that doesn't mean I have to be a different human.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes I'll be in a crisp white (ethically made) linen shirt, working from a cafe or an office, and other times I'll be in my yoga gear or in my vintage jeans and a tee, producing content as I wander through the forest.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Both are perfectly acceptable and perfectly me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here's to all the different sides of our human selves and remembering that our loyal communities and clients will love us no matter how we show up 🥂

I had a wonderful chat yesterday with @cocoroseeco and this is something that came up for me – and it's also something I told a small biz friend on Monday who was a bit worried about not posting on social media in a while.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are so many voices telling us that we have to post on social media every single day to succeed. As a social media manager for 3+ years, I'm here to tell you that exhausting yourself and your creativity isn’t the only way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is so much noise online and I think the pressure to post every day is part of the problem.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Imagine if we all only showed up when we:
a) had something to say or express
b) were SUPER proud of what we were posting, or
c) were sharing from our hearts, with compassion, and to bring goodness into the world, or further our missions
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
...Instead of posting just to be seen or to tick a box for the day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There'd be less noise and far more value, and I'm almost certain that we'd be more engaged and so would our communities. What do you think? #postwithpurpose
